Accelerators as a tool to grow your startup

Looking for some expert support to grow your business? Perhaps you need funding to take your business to the next level? Check out this video with Kristina Pereckaite on accelerators and angel investing.

Kristina’s top three takeaways:

  1. Accelerators are a great way to gain access to a network of contacts that could be valuable to the growth of your business.
  2. Nowadays, there is pretty much an accelerator for any kind of business at any stage, and a lot of them a free/ fully funded. Do your research and make sure you take up the opportunities that are available to you.
  3. The most important thing to consider when applying for an accelerator is timing. Is this a good time for you so you can fully engage with the programme and get everything you can out of it?

About your expert

Kristina has worked with hundreds of founders, predominantly in the tech sector, supporting them to accelerate the growth of their business and to develop themselves as leaders. Specifically, she supports founders with bridging the gap between ‘good idea’ and ‘sound business model’ and getting them ready for funding. Having previously managed Brighton’s largest accelerator, today Kristina heads up the Entrepreneurship programme at PLATF9RM and recently founded Brighton’s only business angel investor group, South East Angels, which provides funding for early-stage startups.

Got an idea for a business but no tech experience?

During this session Sophie covers the first steps you can be working on if your idea is for a tech product. Even if your printer errors when you enter the room and your teenage niece knows more about apps than you do

Sophies’s top three takeaways:

  1. Learn what you can be doing today(!) to start work on your product
  2. Be confident that one day you may even call yourself ‘techy’
  3. No longer shy away from the world of tech.
